In that little couplet it looks to me like ‘Miranda’ is, in fact, the euphamistic word.

Incidentally, my favourite song lyric of recent years mentioned a veranda. It’s by The Decemberists, and it’s so awful that it is in fact good:

“Meet me on my vast veranda
My sweet untouched Miranda”

Though I’m now wondering if ‘veranda’ in that sense is a filthy euphemism. Does he have a vast veranda?
