Frequently pretentious since 1971. Clearly ambiguous since 2000. Completely and utterly incomprehensible since 2006. Warning: may contain synonyms.

Katy - I've 'upgraded' from that leg to one with a foot now. A foot! And a moving knee! (Although the knee is currently locked.) It's about three times the weight of the leg shown in that photo ... but I'm slowly getting used to it. Slowly. Ouch.

Very nice. Sleek, minimalist, generally very this year. What's it like to walk on?

Ooh, how odd. According to your front page, there is a post lurking somewhere called "Absence Makes the Heart Grow Mossy," and yet it seems not to exist.

Is it a treasure hunt? Do we have to follow the clues to find the post? How exciting if so.

Somewhere I have a newspaper cutting which I once cut out and have kept, for some reason, for the past twenty years. It was a tiny little paragraph tucked away in the Little Tiny Bits of News section, and went something like this: "Trucker Jim Smith, 31, was charged yesterday for assaulting his girlfriend with his prosthetic limb"
except it sounded funnier than that.

Sounds like Mad Max might have multiple uses, such as giant toothpick at cocktail parties (raid the buffet in style!) or simply secret prodding device (ah the fun to be had and the confused to be created in crowded lifts!)... Wonderful news! Brain working overtime trying to figure out the Tory chap though...

What I was trying to say was it'll do for now, only I momentarily let my guard down and allowed feelings of venom and wrath (that are actually my feelings about the NHS) to infect my response to the actually v good news that you are now able to quite literally rubber stamp anything you please. And that's official.

I think it's rather fetching.
Kind of utilitarian.
Maybe something the A-Team would come up with.

Glad to see you are mobile again, V.
Nothing else to say really. Except, keep writing.

Well I never! It has the same foot as the four that splay from my utterly useless NHS perching stool. Do you think there's a Mad Max type desert location where mechanics bodge this stuff together in the searing heat using only gaffer tape and tatty bits of leather?

I don't know why but the first thing I thought when I saw your new leg was: is it magnetic? I wonder if it's magnetic? I have know I idea why I thought this. But still I find myself wondering... is it... will I be able to throw spoons across the room at it and roar with laughter as my dear dear friend turns in Edwardo Scissorhands from South West London.
