It’s a book! It has blogs! It has shag­ging! (Oh, it’s actu­ally shaggy, but who has ever let truth come in the way of say­ing some­thing vaguely sala­cious?) It has laughs! It has giggles! It has red noses! It comes in a fetch­ing shade of green! It fea­tures “blog celebrit­ies”, whatever they are, but more import­antly it fea­tures blog­gers I have never heard of! It’s been put together in just seven days! It will do a lot of good work for char­ity, but it won’t like to talk about it! It does not, how­ever, fea­ture pre­vi­ously respect­able and serious-minded news­casters show­ing their ‘wacky’ side by get­ting dressed up in drag to do a cringe­worthy song and dance routine! It has — and per­mit me a rare and highly unchar­ac­ter­istic moment of indul­gent self-promotion here — a piece of writ­ing by yours truly as the first entry! It is Shaggy Blog Stor­ies: a col­lec­tion of amus­ing tales from the UK blo­go­sphere and it is out now in all good book­shops! Except it isn’t! It’s here! That’s right! Here! Not there, but here!
