There’s something I need to tell you.

There are many things I want to tell you.
         [Insert fleeting realisation here]
                  “What was I going on about?”
There are so many things I have to share.
         [Insert stumbling explanations here]
                  “How did we even get onto this subject?”
But I keep losing the thread of what I’m saying.
         [Insert thoughtful yet awkward pause here]
                  “So. Yes. Nice weather we’re having.”
Believe it or not, that’s a good sign.
