I am giving up writing because … #13

I have finally reconciled myself to the once unpalatable notion of Giving The Public What They Want. Which means that I will be far too busy running my new photo-sharing site: picturesofclowns.com.

you knew some of us would go there, didn’t you?

Yes, but will there be any scary clowns with big red noses?

The Public, They Want (pictures of) clowns – but never tell ‘em they’re watching clowns. The naked truth is not popular – not even with a big red nose and greasy make-up :/

Clarissa — Yes, I thought as much. Especially the clown addicts.

Ani — All clowns are scary. Have you ever met a non-scary clown?

Lore — It’s no good. 225 of the Public told me that they Wanted clowns yesterday. I still haven’t recovered from the trauma.

Cheerful One — Hmm. Tempting. I would prefer picturesofasmallyetbigclaydog.com.

Well done you — what terrific news! This puts the tin hat on the lonely and thankless hours thrashing out this lot. Talk about turn over a new leaf! You must be thrilled. Take it from me, a little break from all this lexical fury is galvanising and sets the mind right on track. Unburden yourself — go on — live a little. I’ve read so many posts lately with thoughts along the lines of “I don’t like the person I’ve become writing this, so I’m saying goodbye”. Become! I ask you, they’ve a nerve.

I think all this Catholic ranting is a bit too much like a glance in the mirror for some. Better out than in they say, don’t they? Well I’m not so sure. In my view, all this blogging entails a mass of correspondence and with so many unreliable witnesses, who knows where it will all end — my recent post about whether it was wholly appropriate that gay and lesbian ‘themes’ should form part of an acceptance speech by the new president elect, seems to have gone right off the boil.

Anyway, I’ve a note to scribble off to the local neighbourhood watch re. our committee meetings, which never run to schedule and I’ve the tea on.

In my opinion, you can’t take too much interest in other peoples business. The keynote is participation!

    Must dash.
