Ahem, one’s youth was not misspent by listening to Joy Division or The Smiths, surely they fostered a love of words? (Or did you mean you were listening to them whilst misspending your youth in other mysterious ways?) So many clues lead me to believe you’re a similar age to me (I remain almost unhealthily fascinated), and for people of this delicate age, I say stuff the new year (it’s not going so well is it?) and pass us the Prozac. Failing that, I’ll have a large g&t please.
